There is an elephant in the room for Reggie Bush, and, unfortunately for USC, it is more than Kim Kardashian’s ample backside.
A new book called Tarnished Legacy alleges that Bush accepted approximately $300,000 worth of cash and gifts from a Sports Marketing Company while playing at USC during the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
Bush’s case has been under evaluation from the NCAA’s crack investiator, Mr. Magoo. The controlling interest in College Football is money, and neither ESPN nor the NCAA would want to see arguably the best program in College Football unravel through scandal.
If Bush is found guilty of accepting the money, USC would have to forfeit victories during the 2004 and 2005 seasons and potentially face further sanctions. Bush would likely have to return his Heisman trophy as well.
This scandal may be the impetus for Pete Carroll to even consider leaving USC for the Atlanta Falcons.
