The entire baseball world has their eyes on Johan Santana, but another AL Central team may be looking to make a huge splash.
The Tigers are, according to the Boston Globe, investigating two potential blockbuster deals.
The first would involve a trade with Oakland for right-hander Dan Haren.
The second would be an even more audacious move with the Marlins, Dave Dombrowski’s former employer, that would see the Tigers acquire both slugger Miguel Cabrera and starter Dontrelle Willis.
The Tigers largely stood pat with the AL winning team of 2006 and paid for it by not making the playoffs in ‘07. A bold move may be just what Detroit needs to reinvigorate the team for next season. Will Dombrowski pull the trigger?

They actually got the deal. Cabrera and Willis will play for Tigers next year.
