Goal of the week 9 April 2007
We will admit that our sojurn in Paris has prevented us from a scrupulous analysis of all the goals scored at the weekend. However, as far as humor value is concerned, this one takes the cake. 30m GBP defender Rio Ferdinand fails to place his keeper before tapping the ball back to him. The result was a gentile roll into the back of the net for an OG that sealed the victory for Pompey and brought Chelsea firmly back into the title race.

Van Der Sar is not blameless either. Just an unbelievable miscommunication with so much on the line for Man Yoo.

I thought it was more Van Der Sar’s fault. If he was collecting, he should scream it. God knows Schmeichel would have.
